Iran, China keen to expand cooperation

Beijing, Feb 7, IRNA – Vice-Governor of Guangdong Province of China, Zhao Yufang said the volume of trade between the province and Iran in the year 2014 amounted to over $15 billion.

She made the remarks in a meeting with Alireza Salarian, Iran’s Consul General in Guangzhou.

Appreciating Iran’s Consulate General in further strengthening and expanding bilateral relations between the province and Iran, she called for the broadening of mutual cooperation.

She announced readiness of the province for further expansion of cooperation in the different economic, trade, tourism, university and cultural fields.

The Chinese official also referred to the preparedness of the province to display Iran’s touristic attractions in the international Guangdong exhibition which is due to be held in September.

For his part, Salarian expressed satisfaction over expansion of cooperation between the Chinese province and Iran and announced Iran’s readiness to further develop bilateral relations.

Stressing that the present trend of relations based on the development of ties between the province and Iran is steady, he noted that bilateral cooperation in different economic, cultural, tourism, academic and scientific fields is acceptable and can be further expanded.

He said that efforts should be made to further develop mutual cooperation, adding that Iran is ready for further cooperation with Guangdong Province in this regard.
