Ardabil Province

Ardabil Province (Persian: استان اردبیل‎, Ostān-e Ardabīl ) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran located in north west of country. Capital of the Province  is Ardebil.
Other towns of the province of Ardabil are Bileh Souar, Germi, Khalkhal, Mesh kin Shahr, and Pars Abad.


This province with an area of 18,050 kilometers, bordering on the (former Soviet) Republic of Azarbaijan to the north and north east, Guilan province to the east and south east, East Azarbaijan to the west, Zanjan province to the south, a little inland from the shores of the Caspian Sea and 588 km to the northwest of Tehran, Ardabil can be reached both road and air. It is located in an altitude of 1,300 m above sea level and is 210 km northwest of Bandar-e Anzali and 70 km from Astara on a good asphalt, twisting scenic mountain road. Many tourists come to the region for its cool climate (max 35 °C) during the hot summer months. The winters are bitter cold, with temperatures plummeting to -25°C.Its famous natural region is the Sabalan mountains. The province is considered the coldest province in Iran by many. Large parts of the province are green and forested.


The town is a market center for a fertile agricultural region; carpets and rugs are being produced there.

The province has a population of 1,165,025 deeply religious inhabitants. The population of Ardabil province is mainly composed of Azeris.

Wild life
The province of Ardabil is significant from the wide life point of view. The mount Sabalan is the hostle of the wild animals of view . There are many protected wild life zones on the highlands of the province located on the outskirts of the mount Sabalan, the most important amang them are:
Sheerwan Darrehsi, Moweel, Hooshang Meydani, qara Gouel, Khorosloo Mughan, Aqababa, Hajiloo, Tabnaq, Hassan Darrehsi, arbab kandi, and the protected zone neour which host wild animals such as wild goat, pig, brown bear, grey bear, fox, wolf, ram, Armenian ewe and rabbit live in this province . birds such as partridge and egle can be found too. Because of being situated at the foot hills of Mount Sabalan, 4,860 meters above sea level, the town has a pleasant weather in different seasons, thus attracting huge number of visiting guests from all parts of Iran
