China Willing to Promote All-out Ties with Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- A Chinese official underlined his country's determination to boost ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.    
Chairman of China's Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Wu Bangguo on Sunday voiced his country's resolve to promote exchanges and cooperation with Iran in all fields through joint efforts.
He stressed the influence of Iran and China in the world, and added that the two states share many common grounds in terms of regional and international security.
Wu Bangguo declared that he expects to exchange views on regional and international issues with the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi and other Iranian officials.
Upon arrival, Wu Bangguo who is accompanied by a Chinese delegation, was officially welcomed by Vice Speaker Mohammad Hassan Abu-Torabifard and Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
In April, Iranian Vice-President Mohammad Javad Mohammadizadeh and China's Deputy Prime Minister Li Keqiang China underlined the two countries' resolve to boost trade exchanges to more than $50 billion annually.
Trade between the two countries in the past year was estimated at $45 billion.
China, like Russia, has consistently opposed the US pressures on Iran and the West's economic sanctions imposed on the Iranian financial sector and petroleum products.
China has refused to comply with US requests to decrease oil imports from Iran and instead has increased its trade with the country.
